Transforming Exercise

When I started teaching Keola®, I had no idea what I was getting into.  I was moving in the direction I knew God wanted me to go, in the manner that I knew to do, and trusting (unsteadily at times) Him to do the rest.  Many years ago, I drew a line in the sand.  I made a commitment to obey the Lord and follow His direction no matter where it took me.

Embracing obedience to God doesn’t mean that you won’t make mistakes or will look and act like the “perfect” Christian.  It doesn’t immediately push you into the realm of “arriving”, but it moves you toward that goal.  Each step of obedience transforms you more and more into the image, majesty, and glory of God.  It deepens your intimacy with and trust of this One True God, the Living God, which in turn moves you into deeper obedience because you are sold out to serving Him who is Loving, Holy, and Worthy.  This change is noticeable.

“And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.” 2 Cor 3:18 NIV

As with my whole surrendered being, Keola® is an instrument used to spread the Gospel and help others realize what they have been given freely through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus.  Again similar to me, Keola® is continually being transformed as God uses it to transform others.  Over the last 5 years, I have watched the Lord draw out more of His purpose in this exercise.

What started as a physical workout that allowed time to pray and meditate on the Word, has become this beautiful pulpit to encourage, strengthen, build up and equip others in Christ.  A format that offers deliverance through Jesus from the occult, addiction, condemnation, pride, and other obstacles to living a life in wholeness, health, and submission to the Lord.
My mat is my pulpit.
God has been so gentle and patient with this process of purification.  As I reflect on what He has already done, I am in awe.  He has transformed my view of exercise and wellness and is transforming me from the inside out through submission to Him and His Gospel so boldly spoken through Keola®.

I am so excited to introduce the newest change the Lord has led me to implement in Keola® that continues to declare His glory and express Keola®’s redemption.  The newest element just launched is the implementation of new names for the movements.  Previously, we kept common industry terminology for each position (formerly called poses).  Although Keola® is a new creation through Jesus and separated completely from yoga and its spiritual roots, by keeping the old names Keola® was still identifying with the old.

Oftentimes, in our lives we do the same.  Jesus has made us wholly new and our part is to put on the new self and renew our minds to who we now are through Christ.  This newest component of Keola® is designed to do just that.  Each live class and video posted from this point forward will include names that not only match the Scriptures for that movement, but also declare your new position in Christ and who you are through Jesus.  Hallelujah!

The definition of position is “a place where someone or something is located or has been put”.  By accepting Jesus as Lord, you have been transferred from the kingdom of darkness into the Kingdom of Light (Col 1:13).  You have a new position and each physical position we now lead you into in Keola® proclaims your new identity.  Our words are powerful and it is important that we are speaking words that bring life and blessing to your bodies, souls, and spirits.

“Victorious”, “Accepted”, “Loved”, “Healed”, “Alive”, and “Empowered” are a few of the new position names, all emanating from the new placement on “Mount Zion” (formerly Mountain Pose) we acquire freely through acceptance of the grace given through faith in Jesus, our Lord and Savior.

Check out the new format in the most recent video, “Transformed”, found on YouTube.  Be blessed as you are physically and spiritually transformed by the Gospel into a stronger faith and knowledge of God’s Son Jesus.

“Put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.” Ephesians 4:24 NIV

“They go from strength to strength; each one appears before God in Zion.” Psalm 84:7 ESV

“Out of his fullness we have all received grace in place of grace already given.” John 1:16 NIV

“Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” Romans 12:2 ESV

“Now these are the gifts Christ gave to the church: the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, and the pastors and teachers. Their responsibility is to equip God’s people to do his work and build up the church, the body of Christ. This will continue until we all come to such unity in our faith and knowledge of God’s Son that we will be mature in the Lord, measuring up to the full and complete standard of Christ.” Ephesians 4:11-13 NLT
