Meditate and Digest: Wisdom From Intimacy

In fact, in his public ministry he never taught without using parables; but afterward, when he was alone with his disciples, he explained everything to them. (Mark 4:34 NLT)

Jesus still explains everything to His disciples when they choose to get alone with Him.

As the New Year approaches and you seek a resolution that will benefit you most as a lifestyle change, pray for the desire (if necessary) and ability to make time with Jesus the priority of your day. It is the best choice you will ever make for yourself and He is faithful to help you be disciplined in that commitment.

Don’t fear His Presence or stillness anymore. He confides in those who are His and makes known the secrets of the Kingdom (Psalm 25:14, Col 2:2-3). That understanding is something you need in order to live a life of peace that supernaturally shines for Jesus no matter what your circumstance.

Find your secret place every day to be alone with Your Father through His Word, prayer, or praise. Whether it’s in your car, shower, closet, or backyard, as you spend time with God you will see that He deeply loves and completely forgives you. It is in that abiding relationship that you will receive His rest for weariness, self-control for unrestrained overindulgence, beauty for ashes, faith for doubt, joy for mourning, life for death, and healing for dis-ease.

The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).
