The Fight for My Rights

Do not move an ancient boundary stone or encroach on the fields of the fatherless, for their Defender is strong; he will take up their case against you. (Proverbs 23:10-11 NIV)

In ancient times, boundary stones were used to mark property lines. Moving the stones was, in effect, stealing land.

You have Promised Land; purchased by the precious blood of King Jesus. You also have an enemy whose whole purpose is to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). He makes his accusations and gains ground every time he gets you to defend yourself.

If you fall into the trap of proving your own goodness, you’ll soon realize that you are spinning your wheels depleted of joy, love, and peace. There is only One Gate: the Way, the Truth, and the Life. His name is Jesus. Let Him rise to your defense today. He’s never lost a case.

My dear children, I am writing this to you so that you will not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate who pleads our case before the Father. He is Jesus Christ, the one who is truly righteous.

(1 John 2:1 NLT)
