Meditate and Digest: Faithfulness – What Is Active Faith?

It was by faith that Abraham obeyed when God called him to leave home and go to another land that God would give him as his inheritance. He went without knowing where he was going.  (Hebrews 11:8 NLT)

Great faith always carries with it great obedience. Faith like Abraham’s and many others, either in Scripture or solely in the records of Heaven, will move you to obedience even when you don’t know all the details. With the internet and cell phones, we have access to any and everything we want to know right at our finger tips all the time.

While it is okay to question God, don’t allow your thirst for details to immobilize you in your walk in obedience. If God has asked, then it is important.

Oftentimes He only reveals a piece of the journey, because if you knew the whole you’d be too overwhelmed by fear and feelings of inadequacy to obey.

Start by trusting Him in what you know and talk with Him consistently as you move. It is the baby steps of obedience that will bring you to a place of participation in the mighty things of God.
