When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret. Matthew 14:34 NASB
(Digestion 1 of 2)
MEDITATE AND DIGEST: PATIENCE – ESTABLISHING GOOD GROUND
This verse might seem insignificant, but chewing on the Word draws out nutrition from even what appears to be dry, lifeless food. Every bit of it truly is the Word of Life.
The name Gennesaret carries the meaning, garden of riches or princely garden. It was also known as the “Paradise of Galilee” for its exceptional ability to produce and preserve fruit beyond men’s expectation. If you keep reading (verses 35-36), the Spirit breathed Word describes the characteristics of a place and people that flow abundantly with riches.
One, they recognize Jesus. Two, they proclaim Him to everyone around them. Three, they bring Him their sicknesses and weaknesses. Four, they boldly ask for His blessing and healing in faith. Five, they press in to receive the miracle and blessing He freely offers.
May the Spirit of Christ fill you today with the same good ground that births these beautiful, fruitful responses to His Presence. In Jesus name. Amen.
