Are We There Yet, God? Diary of a Trustworthy, Loving, and Sometimes Tired Lady.

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. (John 15:7 NASB)

There is a church that Jesus addresses in Revelation. By Her name, we know that She is a church who walks in love toward Her brothers and sisters in Christ (Philadelphia). By His words, we know that She has faithfully held on to His Word and His name: He commends Her for Her perseverance (Rev 3:8, 10).

I recently found out that one of the meanings of the word “abide” is to wait. Waiting on Jesus can be hard, yet the fruit of the Spirit is patience. In Christ, it can be done.

I believe that this Philadelphia Church is the primary vessel for the harvest for Christ in the last days and He is speaking to Her, even you, right now.

She is a church that He can trust to ask for the things that will bring Him and the Father glory. She doesn’t speak nonsense over and over, like some magical or irrational incantation, to get things for her own glory or indulgence. She loves the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, the Word, and the people of God immensely. She believes the entire Word of the Gospel and lives it consistently in word and deed.

If this is you, I want to encourage you today. Though you feel like you have little strength (dunamis power – word used for the miraculous works of God), Jesus is pleased with you. Keep fighting the good fight for His name and don’t let anyone steal your promises! Jesus says He has set an open door in front of you that no man or demon can shut (Rev 3:8). He is the Holy One, Genuine and True in all He does, and will faithfully burst into your life even when you least expect it. Keep trusting Him, Church. All for His glory! Amen.
