Meditate and Digest: Peace – Removing Our Religious Glasses

And the work of righteousness will be peace, And the service of righteousness, quietness and confidence forever.

And the effect of righteousness will be peace [internal and external], and the result of righteousness will be quietness and confident trust forever.

Isaiah 32:17 NASB and AMPC

Religion looks for perfect actions to both “achieve” and “prove” godliness. While a life surrendered to the Holy Spirit of Christ will most certainly produce actions that line up with the Word and will of God regularly, the problem with that religious lens is that it overlooks the condition of the heart and the standard of holiness. God is perfect and only a perfect life and heart can meet His requirements for righteousness. None of us have that. Only One did.

By accepting Jesus, you will still make mistakes. Praise God that you are not standing on yourself and your ability! Christianity is all about standing on Jesus for your righteousness. By accepting this gift, you might still look and feel imperfect at times. However, you can rest knowing that God doesn’t see you that way. He sees perfect Jesus in your place.

When you stand in faith of that perfect exchange, you will see the effects of righteousness in your life.  The result is not a perfect life that never missteps. It is, instead, a peace and supernatural trust in God that resonates through you no matter what is going on around you. Receive God’s abundant grace and gift of righteousness through Jesus today and step into the peace of Your Prince.

No one born of God makes a practice of sinning, for God’s seed abides in him; and he cannot keep on sinning, because he has been born of God. (1 John 3:9 ESV)
