“Can a woman forget her nursing child And have no compassion on the son of her womb? Even these may forget, but I will not forget you. “Behold, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands…

Sometimes we go through things that cause us to wonder if God really cares. Does He hear us or even exist? This Word was spoken to that afflicted and weary heart… Almighty God’s response to His child who feels forgotten and abandoned. It is the healing balm and assurance that He most certainly cares for you.

As hard as it is for any caring parent to believe that a mother could desert her child, we know that it does happen. God’s affection is so much greater than ours and Your Father will not leave or forget about you. In fact, this verse forecasts the love of God for you expressed through Jesus well before He even came to earth.

Whether you are walking through a difficult time or standing strong, well before you even existed or faced any trial His love spoke. He hasn’t forgotten you, Child. The scars on the nail pierced hands of Sweet Jesus are constantly speaking mercy and your name.

He knows what you are facing this day. You can be sure Your King is still present, still good, and still faithful to come in compassion to save you. I pray that you see and meditate on the Father’s love for you today; that you ask Him to show you more of it.

May you look to Him and Him alone in your joys and your sorrows. May you surrender everything to His perfect and good will. May you be abundantly blessed today by the immense love that this All-Powerful, All-Knowing, Living and Personal God of the universe has for you, and each day until you meet Him face to face! In Jesus precious and holy name. Amen.
