I will come with the mighty deeds of the Lord GOD; I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours alone.

Everyone has critics. If you are walking in Christ, you are promised to have many. Jesus offers the reminder that your persecutors are not just hating you, but Him. It’s a spiritual issue, so don’t allow it to break you. In fact, according to the Word, it means that you are blessed (Matthew 5:10).

Human tendency is to defend yourself, but resist that temptation. There is nothing you can say that will shift someone’s perception of you. Instead, pray for them. If they are God’s, trust Him to show them the truth and unite you in love. If they are not, ask Father God to give them a heart of repentance that sees and receives His Christ and their need for righteousness by faith. No matter how ugly they’ve been, would you really want them in hell for eternity?

Walk by the Spirit and continue to humbly magnify Jesus and His perfection alone. Your endurance is the key to your crown, Beloved.

“You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.

(Matthew 10:22 NASB)

“But all these things they will do to you for My name’s sake, because they do not know the One who sent Me.

(John 15:21 NASB)

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you… If they persecuted me, they will also persecute you…”

(John 15:18-20 ESV)

“But I say to you who hear, Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who abuse you. (Luke 27-28 ESV)
