Meditate and Digest: Peace – Cheers to New Beginnings

Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

As each new year rolls in, it is common practice to think back on the past – both failures and victories, and then step forward into the year with great expectation. It’s almost like a mental reset button that has been programmed into us at this turn of the calendar; old feels truly gone and new seems… close, truly possible.

Instead of following the herd and losing your pizzazz in a month, take time this week (and all year) to chew on this verse to keep your hopes high. Set your thoughts daily on the Most High, who holds time and your life in His hand, and has proved His love to you with the gift of His Son.

When you accept this gift of Jesus, the old passes away and new comes flooding in. In fact, according to the Word, all things become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). You get a new heart. New spirit. New desires. New focus. New vision. New Father. New Helper. New Teacher. New Love. New

Step into this newness of life in 2018. Allow the Holy Spirit to reset how you view yourself and others. Ask your Father to help you to see yourself and other believers fully forgiven in Christ and to open your heart and mind to grab hold of everything He has accomplished for you through Jesus, then freely share the overflow.

No matter what the past or future holds, you can know that there is a fresh beginning this moment and perpetual hope available to you in the Lord Jesus. May you abound in hope, remain steadfast in faith, and increase in love as you rest in all your Father has done for you. Be blessed!
